What's your mission?

I'm on a mission. As a fitness coach, really an all around wellness coach, I want to inspire and help others all day long. I want people to know that they aren't alone in their journey and that there is always hope for a healthier and more productive life.

So, I've set a goal to create at least 4 blogs each week for the next month that will help people reach their goals. Blogs that will inspire others to be the best version of themselves! And this is the very first blog as part of my challenge this month. I'm going to be an example of how to get stuff done.

But for some reason, I've had a challenging time starting this project. Are you the kind of person that wants to do things, but just can't seem to get started? Me too! You're in good company ;) As I've been thinking about what the problem is with getting started on a dream, goal or mission, I've talked with many clients and discovered that there is really one big problem with lots of different faces.

FEAR. Even as adults, maybe it's better said... especially as adults, we allow fear to drive our daily decisions and hinder ourselves from discovering how great we can really be! Like I said before though, fear has different faces. For some it manifests as a fear of failure. So, If I don't start this challenge, then I won't fail again. The problem here is that you'll never get anything accomplished if you don't start it in the first place!

I think fear manifests itself most of the time in my life as me not being perfect. I can't put "my goal" out there because I'm not good enough, complete enough, perfect enough. I've adopted and have to constantly remind myself of the phrase Done Is Better Than Perfect.

So, in the spirit of being done, I'm going to start this journey with you and continue to challenge and push myself, being transparent the whole way through. Maybe we can learn something great from each other? Sure, I'm not gonna be perfect, but I will be accomplished, I will in fact complete this mission. As you follow along on this journey with me, what goal or mission do you have nagging at you that needs to be done and not perfect? What fear will you let go to see where this goal can really take you?

Feel free to leave your comments below, ask questions, make suggestions, it only makes us better :) I can't wait to see where the next 4 weeks takes us. Will there be mistakes along the way? Yup. But I'm willing to risk it, how about you?

Until next time,

-D
